Our team provides 24/7 security services by monitoring hospital facilities, responding to emergencies, conducting routine patrols, and assisting with safety protocols. We work closely with hospital departments, local law enforcement, and emergency responders to protect people and property while ensuring a professional, respectful, and responsive presence throughout the facility.<br/> </p><p><strong>How you’ll contribute  </strong></p><p>A <strong>Security Officer </strong>who excels in this role: </p><ul><li><span>Observes and reports activities and incidents for all Haywood Regional Medical Center properties.</span></li><li><span>Providing for the security and safety property and personnel at Haywood Regional Medical Center.</span></li><li><span>Makes periodic tours and documents checking for irregularities, perform fire watch when required.</span></li><li><span>Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives pertaining to personnel, patients, visitors, and premises.</span></li><li><span>Frequent valuables collection &amp; returns of patient’s person property. This is a high liability process.</span></li><li><span><i><strong>Receiving, releasing, assisting employees, EMS and Medical Examiners with deceased bodies.</strong></i></span></li><li><span>Being utilized as a sitter during shift as needed and determined by the on-duty Nursing Supervisor and or Administrator on call. Sitters applies to all patient care areas within Haywood Regional Hospital and aims to detect and ultimately ensure patient safety for those who are identified as at risk for suicide or self-harm.</span></li><li><span>Providing relief for the Telecommunicators to include breaks and meal breaks</span></li><li><span>Monitoring ED Lobby from the Security Desk, monitoring Main Lobby from the Volunteer Desk</span><br/><br/> </li></ul><p><strong>Why join us </strong> </p><p>We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Position requires mobility, bending, occasional lifting (5-50lbs), stooping, standing and sitting. Seeing, hearing, speaking and writing clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients, as well as to ability to observe and report incidents. Potential for exposure to inclement weather, unpleasant odors or sights. Must be physically fit and alert. Eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity is required. <strong>Moderate to high stress level</strong>.</li><li>May require physical exertion during stressful encounters with challenging individuals.
