At Cleveland Clinic, our Cardiovascular Telemetry Units (J51, J53, J61, J62, and J63) care for some of the most complex cardiac patients in the world. These 24-bed specialty units provide expert care for patients recovering from advanced cardiovascular procedures, including open-heart surgery, minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery, valve repair and replacement, ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation, and other highly specialized interventions. As part of a world-renowned heart and vascular program, nurses are immersed in innovative therapies and leading-edge technologies that shape the future of cardiovascular care. 

The Cardiovascular Telemetry Units offer a dynamic, fast-paced environment that fosters professional growth, clinical excellence, and career advancement. Nurses develop advanced assessment and critical thinking skills while caring for a diverse patient population recovering from coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), maze procedures, endarterectomies, aneurysm repairs, and other complex cardiac surgeries. A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—7:30pm. Weekends and holiday rotation are required. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.  

• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.  

• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• A high school diploma or GED  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) OR American
