Summary of the role:

This is a hybrid position and would require you to be in the local office 2-3 days a week. 

Navitaire is modernizing our portfolio of hosted services to apply cloud-first domain drive microservice architectural principles, and to evolve our offerings to align with offer and order management concepts. 

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role within this program will specialize in designing site reliability architecture, patterns, and practices that complement the evolution of our application architecture based on domain-driven patterns, using hexagonal architecture with a focus on event-driven, API-first, and security-first approaches.

An ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in designing and executing production management, monitoring, testing, and automation strategies for such a modern system architecture. They will be effective communicators, and strong collaborators that can work closely with different groups to drive quality and resiliency of a distributed system

What you’ll be doing:

• Help teams set site reliability indicators (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs) and targets for the new platform

• Help collect, report on, and automate indicators

• Coordinate action to resolve key issues in production

• Debug and monitor the full application stack for a set of microservices running in k8s

• Manage and execute changes, releases, and test process and drive automation to make these fast, safe, and repeatable

• Advocate for reliability as a first-class activity in the dev ops process

• Work in with several agile teams each delivering a set of microservices

• Applying best practices in terms of site reliability

• Share the commitment to deliver quality working software on an agile cadence with aggressive targets around code deployment frequency and cycle time balanced with high quality and reliability. 

• Coordinate with SREs across the organization to develop and implement testing best practices.

• Participate in on call rotations for production support

Qualifications:

• Minimum

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience site reliability experience or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development

  • Agile Mindset

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or related equivalent

• Plus

  • Python, shell scripts, and/or Powershell

  • Kubernetes (k8s) and AKS

  • Splunk and Grafana

  • Familiarity with Helm, FluxCD/Argo, Ansible, and Terraform

  • Observability (Metrics,Logs,and Traces) including Open Telemetry

  • SDLC tools including Azure Dev Ops (ADO)

  • Communication Skills to interface with both technical and non-technical users

  • Airline Industry Knowledge

  • AZ 900 Certification
