Job Highlights 

Youth Apprentices in our Pharmacy Assistant career pathway assist with the vital function of assuring patients receive accurate and timely prescription ordersYou’ll work with a pharmacy care team with an experienced professional who will serve as your mentor and will help guide your training while providing ongoing support in the role.  

 

Job Details  

  • Effectively work as part of a team, communicate effectively with close attention to details 

  • Maintain academic and attendance requirements for participation in the Youth Apprenticeship Program 

  • Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors, school staff, parent(s) or guardian(s), and employer 

  • Prepare supplies and instruments and monitor inventory while maintaining pharmacy records and other documents 

  • Assist with placing and distributing medication and supply orders and helping customers both in person and via telephone 

  • Provide support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the packing and delivery of medications to customers in compliance with state and federal regulations 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • High school junior or senior  

  • 16 years of age 

  • Must be authorized and approved by the Wisconsin Youth Apprentice Program in accordance with your local school criteria  

  • Reliable transportation to get to and from work 

  • Satisfactory progress towards graduation 

  • Commit to completing 450 hours at the jobsite (10-15 hours per week) 

  • Demonstrated maturity and responsibility 

  • Skill with attending to details, excellent attendance and a strong work ethic 

  • Foster a culture of caring through interpersonal relationships and communication
