Ophthalmology & Aesthetics Coding Specialist - Part-Time/Per Diem

 

Remote, 15-20 hours per week

 

Overview: GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent to join our team as a part-time medical coder. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ophthalmology and Aesthetics & Reconstruction surgeries, with specific experience coding procedures such as debridement, wound therapy, implant removal, and breast reconstruction. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely and contribute to a dynamic healthcare solutions team.

Responsibilities

 

• Accurate Coding: Assign CPT, modifiers, and ICD-10 codes from scanned operative notes, ensuring proper medical necessity and preventing unbundling.
• Workflow Management: Code assignments are tracked via spreadsheet and submitted through eBridge, with a required 48-hour turnaround time.
• Maintain Standards: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of coded data in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
• Flexible Working Hours: Meet coding requirements while maintaining a flexible schedule that supports the 48-hour turnaround time.

Qualifications

 

• Certification: Current CPC credential (or equivalent) is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of medical coding experience, with at least 3 years in surgical coding for Ophthalmology and Aesthetics & Reconstruction.
• Tech Skills: Reliable internet access and the ability to work within the eBridge system. Option to use a personal computer or a company-provided device.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple coding tasks effectively within a part-time schedule.

 

Work Schedule:

• Monday-Friday availability to meet 48-hour turnaround times for coding tasks.
• Some weekend hours may available depending on workload, particularly if work arrives late in the week.
• Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility in work hours.
