Your responsibilities

 

Are you a passionate and experienced DevOps Engineer looking to make an impact in the fast-paced world of energy trading? Uniper’s Platform Engineering team is seeking a talented individual to take our algo-trading landscape to new heights! 

 

The Commercial Technology team at Uniper is the primary hub for Digital & Algo-Trading tools and support. We specialize in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality tools tailored to specific trading requirements. Joining our team presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with a highly professional and outcome-driven group of business and technical experts, contributing to the future of Uniper’s commodity trading business. 

 

• Design, build and maintain our state-of-the-art cloud-based infrastructure, algo-trading, analytics, and dev platforms
• Collaborate closely with our development and trading teams to ensure seamless integration of our platforms with various trading tools and services
• Implementing best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and other DevOps techniques to ensure scalability 
• Create reusable and configurable templates and boilerplates to facilitate fast onboarding of new and maintenance of the existing projects 
• Continuously improve the overall software development lifecycle by identifying and closing gaps or inefficiencies in dev workflows, increasing the overall level of automation, and enhancing developer experience
• Drive the adoption of best practices in code readability, testability, maintainability, scalability, and security
• Architect, deploy and scale logging/monitoring infrastructure to improve observability of systems and services
• Define and implement best practices to make our systems and services measurable
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while working closely with cross-functional teams
• Lead trainings and discussions to evangelize DevOps frameworks and best practices within trading organization and beyond 
• Collaborate with other initiatives and areas within Uniper with respect to DevOps, MLOps, DataOps, IaaC, GitOps

 

  

Your profile

• A degree in or related to Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related discipline
• 3+ years of software engineering experience focusing on DevOps, SRE, Dev Platform Engineering or similar role 
• Proficient with Git, possessing extensive knowledge of various Git flows
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Native Buildpacks), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, StackGuardian, Spacelift)
• Hands-on expertise in CI/CD tools, like GitHub Actions (preferred), Azure DevOps pipelines, GitLab
• Proven experience in software build and delivery in Python and/or .Net, Java, Scala
• Profound knowledge of at least one of OOP languages (preferably C#)
• Proficiency in Unix-like environments 
• Very good scripting skills in at least one scripting language (BASH, PowerShell, Python)
• Hands-on experience with one of the logging and monitoring/observability stacks (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience with agile delivery processes (Scrum, Kanban etc) 
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills 
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Self-driven & motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving
• Familiarity with trading and risk management from commodity or financial markets space would also be a plus 
• Fluency in English (verbal and written)
