Position Title: Director, Procurement

Your role
Join Digital Realty as our Director, Procurement, where you’ll play a pivotal role in leading our corporate (indirect) procurement function.
This is a high-impact role that blends strategic foresight with hands-on execution—driving procurement excellence, process innovation, and commercial efficiency. You’ll work alongside top-tier colleagues and influence enterprise-wide decisions, while being a key finance partner to business leaders across Digital Realty.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute a global corporate (indirect) procurement strategy aligned with business goals and operational excellence.
- Lead procurement planning, supplier negotiations, and contract management to optimize cost, value, and risk mitigation across IT, professional services, facilities, HR, finance, sales and marketing, and legal.
- Establish and refine procurement policies, governance frameworks, and performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, IT, Sales, and HR to align on priorities and enable strategic decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, transparency, and scalability across all indirect procurement categories.
- Manage annual budgets, cost targets, and savings initiatives with a focus on ROI and long-term sustainability.
- Evaluate and implement digital procurement technologies (Oracle Procurement Cloud, Coupa, Ariba) to streamline sourcing, analytics, and vendor performance tracking.
- Represent procurement in executive forums, providing strategic insights, spend visibility, and actionable recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership.
- Lead VMS and MSP governance, ensuring contingent workforce and professional services engagements are compliant and cost-optimized.
- Oversee SaaS and enterprise technology sourcing, including contract renewals, licensing optimization, and commercial compliance.
- Champion supplier diversity, ESG alignment, and risk management, embedding sustainability into procurement strategy.
What you’ll need
10+ years of progressive experience in indirect procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally within global technology or infrastructure organizations.
Proven success leading enterprise-wide procurement functions and complex supplier negotiations across IT, services, and corporate operations.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance cost, risk, and performance in multi-region operations.
Experience managing high-visibility vendor transitions and mitigating operational or reputational risk.
Deep understanding of contract law, procurement governance, and compliance in regulated markets.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing at the executive and board level.
Demonstrated ability to implement digital procurement systems and drive adoption of analytics-led decision-making.
