JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Summer 2025 Internship: Product Engineering, Charlotte, NC to join our growing team.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The JELD-WEN Summer Internship Program empowers talented undergraduate students to gain real-world working experience and professional development in one of our business areas. This position is focused on the Product Engineering team. The internship program includes meaningful projects and challenging work assignments geared at developing professional competencies and skills in a chosen discipline. Additionally, throughout the summer internship, participants will have the opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help enhance future leadership.

 

 

 

   

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In the past, our interns have had the opportunity to:

 

• Hands on product engineering projects that include:
  • Prototype building
  • Building test samples and conducting engineering trials in our plants
  • Support certification testing in our lab
  • Cross functional business exposure (Product Line Management, Finance, Operations, etc.)
  • Engineering drawing creation
  • Support a new 2-panel die project, liteframe project as well as a GPI astragal project

SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

 

Required

• Currently enrolled rising senior students majoring in Product, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD  and Inventor– drawing, design, layout
• Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Experience in project management
• Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation and organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber while demonstrating attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Recommended

• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Relevant internship or previous work experience
