 Financial Grade is one of the top-performing Insurance Brokerages in the nation specializing in insurance and financial products.  For nearly 20 years we have provided independent agents and agencies with assistance and support for all things Medicare-related. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented part-time Accounting professional to join our growing team at our new Brentwood, TN office! 


Position Overview:


As a Part-Time Staff Accountant, you’ll be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, commission management, financial reporting, and audits. You will ensure accurate record-keeping and assist in the management of sensitive financial data, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic financial decisions. This is an on-site position located in Brentwood, TN.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable & accounts payable functions, ensuring timely processing.
  • Process and track agent commissions, incentives, and third-party payments.
  • Audit and resolve commission discrepancies with carriers.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining commission-related reports.
  • Review commission structures, contracts, and track amendments.
  • Perform general bookkeeping for the company using QuickBooks.
  • Assist with OIG/GSA reporting and application processing.
  • Support the development of process improvements within accounting functions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 5 years of accounting experience OR a degree in Finance/Accounting with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
  • Experience with Agency Bloc or similar CRM software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial data to non-financial colleagues.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and dependability.
