Role Summary
Anthropologie is seeking a Manager of Content & Communications Strategy to bridge brand narratives and strategies with content strategies and planning. This newly created role is ideal for dot connectors with deep digital content experience; you’ve led teams and people in unifying separate channel strategies into cohesive, creative, and culturally relevant storytelling. This is not an executional writing role, but one that is passionate about marketing messaging, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to architect matrices, hierarchies, and connectivity. You have a creative streak yourself, see the forest through the trees, and know how to navigate a matrixed organization to set up repeatable frameworks that make content effective.
You’ll partner with Marketing, Creative, and Merchandising to ensure our campaigns and evergreen storytelling build brand equity, trust, and engagement.
Role Responsibilities
Content & Comms Strategy
- Translate brand narrative strategies and insights into actionable content strategies for
- evergreen platforms and seasonal campaigns.
- Build briefs, frameworks, and toolkits that align creative, marketing, and merchandising teams around unified stories.
- Ensure all content ladders back to brand positioning while delivering measurable business outcomes.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of [1–3] strategists, fostering growth in brand storytelling, cultural analysis, and content planning.
- Set priorities, delegate projects, and provide ongoing feedback to ensure high-quality strategy outputs.
- Champion innovation by encouraging the team to test new tools, formats, and approaches (AI, AEO, emerging social).
Cross-Functional Influence
- Partner with Creative Directors and Campaign Marketing leads to shape storytelling from the ground up.
- Collaborate with SEO, Growth Marketing, and Paid Media to ensure strategies optimize for discovery and performance.
- Partner with Consumer Insights to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into creative opportunities.
Measurement & Reporting
- Define KPIs for content strategy impact (brand lift, search ranking, engagement, resonance).
- Monitor and report performance, translating results into recommendations for future campaigns.
- Support the Director in maintaining the Brand Narrative Scorecard.
Role Qualifications
Who You Are
- 6–8 years in content strategy, brand strategy, or creative strategy roles, ideally within retail, fashion, beauty, or lifestyle.
- Experience managing direct reports, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to convert consumer insight into compelling creative platforms.
- Deep understanding of SEO, AEO, and cultural trend tracking.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; confident influencing senior leaders.
- Editorial, creative, or cultural storytelling background is highly valued.
