About the role
Overview/Purpose:
The Associate Planner, Production ensures that the Mountville manufacturing plant adheres to corporate objectives to maintain appropriate target inventory levels for all SKUs/UPC codes. The incumbent will interact with the Operations teams to coordinate manufacturing production schedules and communicate adjustments based on various business and environmental inputs/constraints. The purpose of this role is to deliver fill rate goals, while minimizing obsolete and excess inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set weekly production schedule, factoring in orders, forecast and production capacity.
- Analyze, plan, and release production orders to manufacturing while verifying materials and equipment required for production are available.
- Creates Purchase Orders in Prism for finished goods production and associated production schedules for contract manufacturers.
- Confers with management regarding mfg. capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production.
- Update data and inventory transaction accuracy as required by ERP.
- Manage rush requests by manually adjusting ship dates and coordinating with production to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Support day to day operations to ensure timely production, release, and shipment of product.
- Coordinate any major activity relating to the plant floor that may affect the scheduling of jobs or available net capacity of critical constrains and adjust the plan as needed.
- Reconcile schedule attainment for daily, weekly, and monthly plans.
- Work close with Manufacturing team to meet capacity and production requirements.
- Ensures accurate deployment of finished goods to meet customer demands across the distribution network.
- Utilizes KPIs and attainment tracking to monitor plant efficiency and to ensure compliance with co-packer contractual obligations.
- Assists with other projects, as needed.
- Requirements:
- New starting wage is $27.00 / hour (commensurate with experience and location).
- Minimum of two years’ experience in master scheduling or production planning capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a purchasing or scheduling role in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Knowledge of inventory planning and risk.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
