Full-time, dayshift Monday - Friday 630-1500 or 830-1700. This position will have on call one - two nights per work week, one weekend every four weeks, and one - two holidays per year. On call requires arrival within 30-minutes.
Pay Range
$21.45 - $32.20Major Responsibilities:- Acts as a resource and role model to employees, which includes training/orienting, providing day-to-day work direction, and giving input on performance. Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, monitors productivity, maintains appropriate staffing levels, directs efforts and provides guidance on more complex issues.
- Assists with human resource responsibilities, which may include interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, providing performance feedback, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale.
- Assists in interpreting department policies and procedures, and advises and updates staff on procedural changes. Identifies performance improvement opportunities within the department and facilitates change.
- Provides input on all phases of anesthesia delivery, working procedures, quality assurance, and process improvement. Make recommendations for changes and communicates and promotes new approaches.
- Remains current in anesthesia services management concepts, clinical knowledge, and hospital policies and procedures and assures communication to staff. Maintains advanced clinical and technical knowledge in the area of anesthesia administration.
- Sets up monitoring equipment in the operating room and moves anesthesia equipment to proper surgical suite; checks equipment to verify proper connections, gasses turned off, etc. Maintains adequate supply of proper equipment. Calibrates all pressures and recording systems within the patient monitoring system to ensure and maintain precise readings.
- Provides general assistance to the Anesthesiologist, other technicians and co-workers as needed. During surgical procedures, assists in the insertion of arterial pressure lines. Draws arterial and/or venous blood samples for diagnostic testing.
- Transfers patients to and from the operating room. Collects all data sheets and transports them with the patient, establishes electrocardiograph (ECG) and pressure monitoring at the destination, and reports monitoring status to the receiving Nurse.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Education Required:
- High School Graduate.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in anesthesia-related monitoring within a hospital setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Previous experience working effectively with Physicians.
- Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously, with sound decision-making and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving and negotiation skills.

- Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and reach above shoulders and twist frequently during work shift.
