Job Summary:

 

NRG is currently seeking a dynamic Senior HR Business Partner to support the NRG Corporate functions (i.e. Finance, Administration, Technology, Legal).  This position will provide HR consultation to management and employees in the following areas: strategic people management, employee relations, employee engagement, HR Projects/Programs and initiatives, compensation, acquisitions, integrations, workforce planning and retention, recruiting, as well as subject matter expertise relative to process improvement, project management, data analysis and reporting.   An effective Senior HR Business Partner will advance the objective of increasing employee, management, and organizational engagement and effectiveness.

  

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Learn about NRG, the businesses and corporate functions that support the business to ensure HR aligns with and supports business goals.
  • Build effective relationships with leaders, managers and employees and provide seamless tactical and strategic HR support. To include strategic thought leadership on building/developing a high-performance company culture.
  • Serve as an advocate and business partner by providing coaching and guidance to management and employees regarding policies, procedures, and programs. 
  • Drive/improve employee engagement through the development of talent reviews, succession planning, mentoring programs, etc.
  • Facilitate and improve the recruiting process by providing strategic assistance with job descriptions, compensation analysis, approvals, interview training, and interviewing for key roles, etc.
  • Recommend and perform quality control procedures as defined to ensure accurate and compliant records, including records related to promotions, job transfers and new hires. Maintain open position and workforce planning details.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and the HR Project Management Office to design and develop HR processes and practices as well as the HR Shared Services team.
  • Perform end user testing for system configuration changes, problem resolution, enhancements, upgrades, and integration activities.
  • Partner with business leaders to confidentially manage and resolve employee relations matters in accordance with company policies, processes, procedures, and employment law (as appropriate).
  • Coach Managers to document effectively to improve individual & team performance.  Actively manage performance and behavior issues to resolution.
