Internal Inventory Manager - SERDC

Role Summary:

The purpose of the SERDC Inventory Manager is to drive the operational efficiency of the PDC and RDC operations. This is a role with 2 separate operations under the same roof.  Inventory Manager will plan and execute a stocking strategy within the facility that drives team member safety, maximum resource productivity and space utilization.  SERDC Inventory Manager also has planning and inventory management responsibility for an external offsite warehouse. 

Role Responsibilities:

Strategy – 50% of time

• Develop internal stocking (slotting) strategy for facility that ensures safety and improves operational effectiveness taking into account 2 separate operations utilizing the space of a warehouse and offsite location.
• Create baseline resource planning required to execute annual Cycle Count program that ensures on-time completion by inventory class for 2 separate operations (RDC and PDC).
• Work with PDC and RDC management team to create short- and long-term planning, budgeting, and expense control, and successful implementation of overall SERDC and PDC business plan.
• Facilitate local and/or external Continuous Improvement Teams to define and eliminate process waste.
• Actively collaborate with other facilities’ Inventory Managers and corporate teams to drive best practices and methods.
• Develop and maintain high level of organizational awareness as it relates to achieving facility and departmental goals.
• Maintain awareness of related external trends and technologies pertaining to distribution systems and methods.
• Work with corporate procurement team to evaluate stocking levels and obsolescence of inventory.
• Plan stocking strategy for new model launches based on Chattanooga Production plans. 

Operational – 30% of time

• Implement and measure effectiveness of internal stocking (slotting) strategy in PDC and RDC operations.
• Continuously analyze inventory placement to perform internal warehouse moves based on changing sales frequencies and stocking levels in both PDC and RDC Operations.
• In conjunction with Operations Manager, manage resources to ensure all areas are current (Master Data, Cycle Counting, Multiple Bins and Velocity Stocking) in both PDC and RDC operations.
• In conjunction with Auburn Hills-based teams and local Operations Manager, coordinate planning and execution of allocations and campaigns.
• Execute the defined cycle-count program for the PDC and RDC, defining root cause for errors and providing feedback to the continuous improvement teams.
• Track inventory accuracy to meet or exceed all inventory and location accuracy metrics determined with management while providing root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies.
• Work with Quality Team to ensure that all special notices/stock inspections are completed according to defined process and within defined timeframes
