HybridCollins Aerospace is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Chief Project Engineer to join our Engine Controls & Accessories (EC&A) organization within the Power & Controls. In this customer-facing role, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for our Airframe Customers value stream.
As the Chief Project Engineer, you will ensure that customer requirements are met on time and within budget, while aligning project priorities with customer needs. You will actively capture the voice of the customer, identify and manage risks and opportunities, confirm that lessons learned are integrated into future projects, and ensure seamless product integration with the customer’s system.
What You Will Do
Provide leadership in execution of the design and development activity, including testing and qualification of the component.
Provide input for all Development Plans and managing the program development within the approved budget and schedule allocation.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Project Engineer and the IPT
Verify that the development activities done by the IPTs are executed in compliance with the Program Development Plan, all applicable Standard Work, and any additional applicable procedures.
Review and manage various program activities such as risk management tracking and reporting, earned value performance, resource management, action item capture and closure, and stakeholder meetings.
Meeting the DTC targets for the business case of the program as well as driving cost reduction throughout the life of the program
Capture the Voice of the Customer to identify their priorities, risks, and opportunities
Identify risks and obstacles, quantify impacts, ensure mitigations and contingency plans are executed
Communicate effectively to the Value Stream team, Senior Management, and the customers (LM, NG, Boeing, Airbus, Saab, etc.)
Coordinate and support the preparation of accurate BOEs for proposals and the timely submittal to the customer
Work with customer counterparts to remove roadblocks and align on priorities
Provide an escalation path internally as well as to and from the customer
Influence and validate the technical Most Important Requirements that drive the Strategic Road Maps for product lines
Drive cross-SBU strategic coordination to identify opportunities to bundle offerings
Coordinate and validate Strategic Financial Plan submissions
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer
Experience leading projects or programs.
Familiar with pumps, gearboxes, starters, and pneumatic valves.
Experience in leading design, development, certification, and field investigations.
Skilled in managing project requirements.
Ability to organize and analyze complex data.
Experience presenting to customers and executives.
