THE ROLE
Insomniac is looking for a Merchandise Accountant to support operations including month-end close, reporting and analysis, and day-to-day activity. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong accounting background, strong communication skills and be very well organized. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Event Accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee month-end close process for festival and e-commerce merchandise
- Prepare journal entries for merchandise inventory, COGS, and accruals
- Reconcile inventory, received not invoiced account, and artist royalty payments
- Review, code, and approve AP invoices for merchandise related expenses
- Partner with merchandise department on new initiatives and any discrepancies
- Perform month-end close tasks in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements
- Streamline and create new processes
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience or related experience, preferably in cost accounting and inventory management
- Experience with Acumatica preferred
- Advanced technical skills, including Excel and ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP and reporting software
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
- Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
