Summary:

The Director, Clinical Risk Management has the responsibility for the administration and management of the Risk Management Program and for Cook Children’s Health Care System. Risk management is defined as those activities directed at reducing the likelihood of adverse effects or outcomes for the organization, its providers and employees, and the customers it serves. These activities focus on the environment, care or service provided and minimizing the risk of litigation or negative impact on the organization’s ability to meet the expectations of its patients and the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Masters' degree preferred

• Five years combined management and Risk Management experience

• Two years Risk Management leadership preferred.

• Oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work with all members of the health care team to achieve positive outcomes

• Must be able to adapt to changing healthcare environment and requirements

Certification/Licensure:

• Current Texas license in Nursing

• CPHRM within 2 years of starting position
