Product Design Engineer 1

Job Summary:

Working with North American customers to develop new products, and matching the product to the customer's needs. Working to reduce cost in products. Reviewing mass production quality issues that arise, and making updates to design plans accordingly. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Lead new product introduction to manufacturing facility.
• Organize and lead team members in localization of product and components.
• Introduce and lead team for VAVE study and implementation.
• Work on product design to adopt technology for manufacturing process (DFM). 
• Responsible for launching new projects including obtaining funds, obtaining approval from upper management, and project management from project start until mass production launch.
• Developing component specifications, selection of component suppliers, conducting design reviews, and procuring new equipment for component making. 
• Travel to various suppliers, customers, and other Group companies.
• General Engineering tasks upon request including providing line support to Final Assembly lines, optimization of product tests, time studies, cost analysis, capability studies, defect root cause analysis and countermeasure development, ROI studies, & cost reduction activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors' degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 0-2 years in manufacturing engineering
• Analytical & troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of how to perform stack-up study preferred.

 Annual Salary: $70,000-$85,000
