Director of Construction, Military Construction (MILCON)

<p>ICON is seeking a Director of Construction for Military Construction (MILCON) Projects. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of all MILCON construction projects. This includes program performance, from pre-construction strategy through project closeout, across multiple concurrent projects serving a variety of Department of War customers and government agencies nationwide.&nbsp;</p> <p>The ideal candidate is a deeply experienced, highly autonomous construction leader who brings command-level judgment, strategic clarity, and hands-on technical leadership to a complex, fast-moving federal construction program. This person does not require direction on tactics or strategy — they set it. They thrive&nbsp;in ambiguous, high-stakes environments, hold themselves and their teams to the highest standards of&nbsp;performance and compliance, and have a demonstrated track record of delivering demanding federal&nbsp;construction programs on time, on budget, and in full conformance with government contract requirements.&nbsp;The ability to operate with a high degree of independence while maintaining full accountability for outcomes is&nbsp;essential.</p> <p><br>ICON is redefining how military and federal facilities are designed and built. As a vertically integrated Design-Build organization, ICON serves as both designer and general contractor — delivering all scopes from site&nbsp;development through finish-out — and integrates our proprietary 3D printing construction technology&nbsp;alongside traditional trades and systems. The Director of Construction, MILCON will serve as ICON’s senior&nbsp;construction authority for all DoD engagements, interfacing directly with government representatives,&nbsp;contracting officers, and project stakeholders while building and leading a high-performing national&nbsp;construction team.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p><strong>Program Leadership &amp; Strategic Oversight</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own construction program performance across ICON’s full national MILCON portfolio — accountable&nbsp;for schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance on all active and upcoming projects</li> <li>Set strategic direction for MILCON construction operations, including resource deployment, risk management, and operational standards</li> <li>Serve as ICON’s senior construction authority in all dealings with DoD contracting authorities, including&nbsp;USACE and NAVFAC contracting officers, CORs, and government program managers</li> <li>Proactively identify and resolve program-level risks to maintain project performance</li> <li>Provide executive-level project performance reporting to ICON leadership with clarity, precision, and&nbsp;actionable insight</li> </ul&
