The HR & Payroll Specialist supports the Human Resources Department in payroll, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration and other HR functions.
What you will own:
Payroll Specialist Duties:
As the Payroll Specialist you will oversee Lendio’s payroll processing and related functions. You will be responsible for pulling various reports to gather employee hours, commissions, bonuses, and time taken off. You will calculate wages, prepare payroll and process payroll multiple times throughout the month. You will also ensure we stay compliant with all federal, state, and local laws with employee compensation and payroll filing.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions, resolves on-cycle/off-cycle payroll requests.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Completes Quarterly/Year End Tax Notices & Filings.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
HR Specialist Duties:
As the HR Specialist you will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Lendio’s people team.
Maintains & Reviews new hire offers, background checks, drug tests to ensure employment eligibility.
Completes I9 filings for new hires
Review & Process offer letters to candidates
Conducts New Hire Orientation
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees via Phone, SMS, email, and slack.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefit enrollment, organization-wide meetings, culture pillars, & holiday parties.
Provides clerical support to the HR department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will need to be successful:
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Proficient knowledge of the payroll function, software, and regulations.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Education and Experience:
High-school Diploma/GED Required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field strongly preferred.
1 year of experience in Workday payroll is highly desirable.
A Payroll Certification is highly desirable
HR Certification Preferred (SHRM/HRCI)
Physical Requirements:
Hybrid Work schedule, open office environment
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
