This position is with the Fiscal Services Division and is represented by the UAW.
General Summary
Performs a wide range of bookkeeping duties according to established unit procedures related to the proper registration, payment processing, and maintenance of client service accounts. Performs more complex clerical accounting duties, including preparing moderately complex financial statements or budget documents and posting and processing all funds regardless of complexity. Obtains financial information from clients in an effort to collect monies for fees such as court or jail costs, utility bills, and taxes. establishes and adjusts payment schedules as needed. Handles customer relations situations that require greater sensitivity, knowledge of policies and procedures, and/or a higher degree of independent judgment. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Distinguished from those of Financial Services Technician II by one or more of the following: 1. responsibility for maintaining funds of a significantly greater complexity and amount; 2. assignment of a wide range of bookkeeping duties, following numerous often complex procedures; and 3. significant responsibility for a bookkeeping function.
Required Minimum Qualifications
At the time of application, applicants must:
1. Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test. 2. Have had three (3) years of full-time work experience which involved basic accounting or bookkeeping principles or related clerical experience. NOTE: Coursework at an accredited college or university in a business curriculum which included accounting classes may substitute for up to two (2) years of the experience listed above.
Pay Range
