The primary functions are to manage, complete and distribute the daily tasks of the Financial Aid Terre Haute campus functions and to provide general financial aid counseling to students and other customers from within and outside the College. Complete tasks that are required on a student account to establish their financial aid package. This position responds to situations by recognizing, researching, and suggesting viable options for initiating and following through with financial aid processes.
The Assistant Director will share in the responsibilities of administering federal and state aid, loans, and scholarships. This position assists with in-depth processing questions, escalated account issues and complex errors on student files. The position is responsible for helping ensure that student files are processed in a timely manner and that student accounts are in accordance with federal and state regulations and institutional policy and procedures. This position also assists with questions to complete Federal Work Study, Professional Judgments, Scholarships, and other Terre Haute campus specific functions.

Demonstrate a strong customer service and student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.
Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student, or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
Provide both individual and group counseling regarding availability of financial assistance, explain the application process and assist with the completing of applications.
Package financial aid awards, disburse funds, notify students and agencies of disbursements and process necessary reports related to federal, state and institutional aid programs.
Utilize various governmental websites (Scholar Track, FSA Partner Connect, FPS, COD, NSLDS) to research difficult student issues.
Process forms for external agencies including forms for housing, food stamps, TANF, Workforce Development and Vocational Rehabilitation.
Assist in workshops such as College Goal Sunday, high school Financial Aid Nights, orientations and other activities on and off campus designed for new and continuing students.
Process applications and other materials related to financial assistance, including but not limited to student/parent loan applications, verification of information and certification of student eligibility, and professional judgment appeals.
Maintains accurate records for student aid applicants and helps in collecting data for required reporting.
Monitor and enforce Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Review reports, correspondence, and material of both a general and confidential nature.
Provide professional support to upper management.
Determine daily priorities and anticipated workload.

Annual Salary $44,800
Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-4 years of related work experience.
At least two years of relevant experience demonstrating leadership qualities and a customer-service focus.<
