About Crystal Bridges & The Momentary:

Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Founded by Alice Walton in 2005, the museum opened in 2011 and is a public, non-profit charitable organization with free admission.

The Momentary is a new contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. A satellite to Crystal Bridges, the Momentary presents visual, performing, and culinary arts. The mission of the Momentary is to champion contemporary art’s role in everyday life and explore the unfolding story of contemporary American arts in an international context by actively commissioning and exhibiting outstanding works that explore new ideas and inspire action.

Position Summary:

Intern Responsibilities:

Communication Superstar:
Engage in thought-provoking discussions, actively listen, and help facilitate meaningful conversations that drive change.

Problem-Solving Innovator:
Tackle real-world scenarios and simulations, offering creative and practical solutions to support DEAI initiatives.

Adobe Proficiency Guru:
Create, manage, and refine documents with Adobe tools, bringing your digital skills to life while contributing to impactful projects.

Training Platform Pro:
Use resources like LinkedIn Learning to build and implement training modules, empowering others with knowledge and skills to promote inclusion.

Community Engagement

• Collaboration with Learning and Engagement Department
• Cultivate and maintain community partnerships
• Understand components of community development internally and externally
• Attend disability task force to learn and apply access and inclusion

Workplace Culture and Staff Engagement

• Learn about departments and their roles
• Learn and assist in ERG’s
• Assist with ERG Celebration (Staff Engagement)
  • Recognition lunches

Procedures, Policies and Structure

• ARC Guiding Principles
• CE Framework
• Assist with facilitating meetings

The intern will work closely with Director of Inclusion and Belonging to learn and gain real world experience. 

Qualifications:

• Interest in learning Crystal Bridges and the Momentary’s organizational polices
• Ability to communicate written and verbal
• Interest in project management
• Strong organizational abilities
• Initiative required 
• Ability to research 

Timeline:

• Anticipated Start Date: August 25th
• Anticipated End Date: November 15th

Schedule:

• Hours: High School students: Up to 15 hours a week; Undergraduate students (bachelor’s Level): Up to 20 hours a week; Graduate Students (master’s Level): Up to 25 hours a week
• Weekly schedule to be arranged with direct supervis
