Director, Nursing Operations – L&D, Triage, and OR

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking an experienced Nurse Leader to oversee one of the busiest delivery centers on the East Coast.

The Director of Nursing Operations for Labor and Delivery (LDR), Triage and Operating Rooms (OR) oversees assigned area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success. 

Director of Nursing Operations for Labor and Delivery (LDR), Triage and Operating Rooms (OR) Job Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, development and direction for the LDR, triage, C/S OR and preoperative teams while ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost effective healthcare services consistent with Inova Health System's mission, vision, values and goals. Creates an environment that allows team members to develop professionally.
• Uses research and literature findings related to new clinical/technical/healthcare trends and performance Improvement and standards development to maintain current practice/patient/managerial functions.
• Ensures optimal staffing and coverage at all times while maintaining budgetary standards and effective utilization of all resources.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Experience - 5 years of strong progressive career in nursing clinical practice and leadership with substantial strategic and operational experience in developing and leading large scale nursing programs
• Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in labor & delivery, triage, and operating room settings
• Experience in a highly matrixed organization
• Proficient in coordinating care with emergency departments, OB-GYN, and pediatrics
