Job Description
As an Estimator for our Solar Innovations brand, you will utilize information gathered from the customer to generate pricing proposals and AutoCAD isometric drawings. You will typically specialize in specific product types (ex. fenestration vs. structures) and will progress in your role based on increased complexity of products. You will provide technical expertise to make sure the customer receives the appropriate product based on application, product capabilities, and/or aesthetics. You will guide the customer, while also supporting the Sales Team as a product expert.
Location: This position reports to our Pine Grove, PA location 5 days per week.
Salary: $44,000 - $55,000 + bonus and comprehensive benefits
What you will be doing:
- Generate proposals, estimates, and CAD isometrics for simple structures and/or simple door and window projects.
- Meet departmental daily and/or weekly quotas, based on product type. (ex. 6 - 8 structural quotes per day; 8 – 10 fenestration quotes per day)
- Support the sales team in creating a client support network internally and externally that meets and exceeds the Company's sales objectives.
- Review commercial bids, determine eligibility for quoting, complete take offs, and provide bids for Spec Projects generated from construction lead websites.
- Interact with in-house Engineers, Drafters, and Project Managers to collect all necessary information for a project to provide quotes to a customer in a timely manner.
- Teach sales reps, as needed, when additional information is needed for quote documentation.
- Meet expected due dates for quote completion.
- Communicate professionally with outside vendors and request information or supplier pricing in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, fractions) and comfortable working with measurements
- Ability to work within a deadline-oriented environment, with potential for changing priorities
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently, with the ability to collaborate as needed with cross-functional teams and customers
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AutoCAD
- College Degree in Drafting, Architectural Design, Interior Design, Construction, Sales, or similar
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or specifications
- Experience in glazing industry and/or a background in architecture
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $44,000 USD - $55,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
