Job Title: Software License Management Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software License Management Specialist to join our Information Warfare Division. In this role, you will be responsible for providing and maintaining Unit Software License Management (USLM) for all information systems within our division. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient and compliant use of software across Corporate Facilities and division R&D areas.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide software end-use reporting to relevant stakeholders, including the Base Software License Manager, Division Cyber Security Liaisons, Program Managers, and Division Management Office.
    • Coordinate with software end-users and purchasers for accurate reporting.
    • Maintain the accuracy of Corporate Facilities and division R&D areas for software license entry in the local RRS database (e.g., SamDB or other database as identified by BSLM).
    • Ensure controlled delivery of all software purchased to end-users, including entry of purchase details into the identified database.
    • Perform semi-annual and annual inventory checks of all software licenses and cross-check with installed software on information systems.
    • Maintain a soft copy of the software license inventory and "Proof-of-License Ownership" for Government-owned and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software.
    • Report inventory results in SamDB or other identified system.
    • Maintain any physical inventory of license agreements, licenses, and physical software media in a centralized and controlled location.
    • Identify and resolve issues with software lacking associated licenses.
    • Coordinate with Division CSL and COR to resolve licensing issues and request replacement licenses from publishers.
    • Provide files to the local Functional Area Record Manager or Base Records Management Office for proper retention and disposition of official records.
    • Provide training to Information Warfare Division personnel on information systems awareness and compliance with Software License Management (SLM) policies.
    • Provide SLM status reports and maintain internal spreadsheets of deviations from approved software license policy.
    • Develop POA&M in coordination with the COR for information system compliance, such as Windows 11 migration or OFFICE 365 migration.
    • Provide approved software to AFRL/RIG personnel once required actions are completed to ensure proper controls for end use.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in software license management.
  • Familiarity with databases and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of software licensing policies and regulations.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must hold a DoD 8570 IAT II certification (such as Security+)
  • DoD Secret Clearance is required
