Overview:
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is one of the world's premier centers for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children, primarily pediatric cancers. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States, St. Jude seeks to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Within St. Jude, the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.
SJG is at a pivotal moment in the development of its Regional Programs, establishing hubs across the globe to improve outcomes for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases around the world. One of the first three hubs to open will be in Mexico City, which will drive St. Jude Global’s work in Mexico and Central America. The Senior Director will play a key role in developing the vision for the Mexico City Hub and will eventually be expected to relocate to Mexico City.
The Senior Director, Mexico and Central America Regional Program is responsible for:
Leading the process of defining the strategy for the Mexico and Central America Regional Program and driving the implementation of the strategy;
Establishing annual performance targets for the Regional Program and managing the achievement of these targets;
Managing the implementation of the Regional Program’s projects, including, as necessary, developing new projects to address key needs in the region;
Leading St. Jude Global’s engagement with partners in the Mexico and Central America region, including by managing relationships with existing Global Alliance members, by identifying potential new members, and by serving as the primary relationship manager with other key stakeholders in the region, including the Pan-American Health Organization;
Managing relationships with key partners related to the Global Initiative on Childhood Cancer and the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines;
Working closely with other parts of St. Jude Global, including various Transversal Programs and the Education Programs, to ensure the coherence of the Regional Program;
Coordinating with American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC) to ensure synergistic activities in the region;
Overseeing the management of contractual relationships in the region;
Developing an annual budget for the Regional Program and ensuring budget execution and management.
