Sally Hansen is looking for a Sr. Packaging Designer to join the in-house Creative Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an organized and creative individual to contribute to Sally Hansen’s launch presence and help drive excitement and engaging connections with our target audience.

 

The position requires strong knowledge of packaging design from printing capabilities to componentry, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate has a passion for beauty.

 

This role reports to the Creative Director of Sally Hansen. This role demands a high degree of collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.

 

 

THE ROLE

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

•  Responsible for the conception, development and execution of packaging design on Sally Hansen, reporting to the Creative Director
• Working in collaboration with the Brand Team to transform Creative Briefs to create innovative packaging concepts that are executable within industrial, cost and time constraints
•  Understand the power of packaging in-store and online to attract the consumer and embody brand equity
•  Aesthetic review of all components, color drawdowns, proofs
•  Manage external comp houses and prototype studios
•  Design Turnovers (DTOs) of package designs to cross-functional teams
•  Foster idea sharing, art direction and concepting
•  Actively participate in operational and creative meetings
•  Domestic travel to suppliers for component, masterbatch and deco approval
•  Review and approve all primary, secondary and label declinations in artwork e-routing system
•  Maintain all physical color and component history
•  Create and maintain packaging style-guides

 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

 

We’d love to see candidates who have:

 

Essential:

 

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Graphic Design and/or Packaging Design
• 10 years beauty pack design experience
• 2D Design expertise, 3D Product Design knowledge is a plus
• Proficient in Adobe CC (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop), 3D rendering software (CAD, iC3D, Adobe Dimension) is a plus
• Passionate in CPG product design and graphic design; always seeking to grow and learn
• Excellent knowledge of mass color/cosmetics packaging
• Highly motivated and self-starter, passionate and collaborative team player
• Sense of accountability, deliver on promises and take responsibility for actions
• Organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives under tight timelines
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicate ideas to both creatives and non-creatives
• Strong print-production knowledge (dielines, bleed, color modes, live area, etc)
• Thrives in a team environment, contribute ideas and interact with cross-functional partners (Marketing, PCD,
• Production, Artwork Management)
• Manages well in a high-volume, fast-paced, open floor-plan environment
• Positive energy and a curious nature
