Job Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Global Investigations in our OGC (Office of General Counsel) organization, the Director, Global Investigations responsibilities include acting as a confidential and impartial source to conduct internal Code of Conduct investigations, including high-risk internal investigations, with particular focus on matters in Latin America and Europe.
Preferred candidates will have a strong working knowledge of regulatory and compliance laws, including the US Foreign Corruption Practices Act (FCPA) and anticorruption laws in the United States and internationally, and have experience working on investigations and exposure to working in diverse, complex markets.
A demonstrated ability to be diplomatic, culturally sensitive, firm and decisive, when necessary, is a key asset for the role. The successful candidate can communicate confidently and effectively in English on business and legal topics. Moreover, strong project management skills and the ability to plan and conduct complex investigations are required for the role. The successful candidate will also have the demonstrated ability to analyze data and draw reasonable conclusions, communicate clearly, possess excellent writing skills and as a strong team player be able to work effectively with others at various levels of the organization. As the position requires working across various functions within the company (e.g., Legal & Compliance, Global Security, HR, Finance), demonstrated networking and influencing skills are required.
The position involves management of one lawyer, an Associate Director, who will provide support for investigations led by the Director as well as lead certain investigations themselves.
The candidate must have the ability to travel internationally.Ā Proficiency in languages spoken in Latin America and Europe, particularly Spanish, is strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
Education Requirement:
License to practice law (active in good standing) in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Advanced degree in the field of law (e.g., J.D., LLM., Doctorate Degree)
Commute/Location/Time Zone:
Applicant must have ability to work/support as per LATAM and EU Time Zones.
This role could be based at either of sites in Rahway (NJ) or Upper Gwynedd (PA), with a Hybrid setup (combination of 3 days in-office & 2 days offsite/remote).
This position cannot be 100% remote.
We may be able to offer some support for domestic relocation.
Required Experience and Skills:
7 years of legal experience specializing in internal investigations, encompassing preparing, planning for/and conducting witness interviews, meticulous document review, comprehensive report drafting, and demonstrating excellent judgment throughout the investigative process.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with legal colleagues, business leaders, and staff, ensuring clear and effective dissemination of investigative findings.
Strong presentation, facilitation, networking, and influencing abilities to effectively navigate the complexities of internal investigations.
Demonstrates leadership skills and maintains a positive attitude.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Substantive skills in Anti-Corruption (i.e., Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other Anti-Corruption statutes) or similar laws
Experience in interacting with executive-level individuals
Proficiency in languages spoken in Latin America and Europe, particularly Spanish.
