POSITION SUMMARY 

Our Staff Accountant supports accurate and timely general ledger activities and ensures compliance with UpKeep’s financial policies. This role plays a vital part in daily accounting operations and contributes to the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting across the company.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Assist with global month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes by ensuring timely customer invoicing and vendor payments.
  • Prepare routine general ledger account reconciliations and assist with revenue and expense analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining supporting documentation for accounting transactions in accordance with internal controls.
  • Provide audit support by gathering requested documentation and preparing basic audit schedules.
  • Help compile tax-related information and coordinate with external tax consultants as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

 

EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role (internships included)

 

KNOWLEDGE 

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas)
  • Familiarity with US GAAP is preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus
