This is a hybrid position based out of Feeding America’s Washington DC office location. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees must be in the office an average of 2 days a week (when not travelling for work) and can work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day “work anywhere” program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays. 

The Opportunity   The Director of Network Advocacy implements a wide range of strategic, analytic, and campaign skills to develop and execute advocacy initiatives that engage Feeding America’s network of partner food banks, state associations, affiliates, and agency partners to take action to advance Feeding America’s public policy and legislative objectives and to help catalyze a movement to end hunger in America.  They develop and implement network advocacy strategy and tactics and serve as a spokesperson on advocacy, grassroots movement building, hunger, and Feeding America before a range of audiences. They help position Feeding America as a leading organization on domestic hunger.   Support the development and execution of national integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand and issue awareness/engagement and manage prioritized brand and content projects. Serve as the conduit between the Brand & Content team and the broader Marketing & Communications team to ensure marketing initiatives are coordinated and/or complimentary. Compensation

You can expect us to offer the best salary up front based on these clearly defined pay practices with little room for negotiation. We make exceptions for highly experienced (multiple years of at-level experience) new hires in accordance with our pay practices. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans to engage Feeding America’s network of partner food banks to advance Feeding America’s policy and legislative priorities including overseeing network advocacy grants, network advocacy capacity, network resource development, tracking network advocacy and network rapid response mobilization.  
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities related to mobilizing targeted leaders from partner food banks and development of specific resources, technical assistance, and advocacy strategies to strengthen Feeding America’s impact on legislative priorities.  
  • Provide advocacy service and support, including strategic advice, “trouble shooting,” and technical expertise to the national office, partner food banks and state food bank associations on advocacy and mobilization.  
  • Oversee work with committees engaged in network advocacy. This includes day-to-day management activities related to managing network committees focused on building network advocacy capacity, engaging in policy, legislative and advocacy strategies.
