Job Description

The Senior Accountant supports the Wealth, Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking Business Line Controllers team, with a primary focus on the Global Fund Services (GFS) business. GFS delivers comprehensive fund administration and asset servicing solutions to global asset managers.

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and a strong month-end close process for GFS. The Senior Accountant prepares and reviews journal entries, produces financial reports, and delivers meaningful insights to GFS business leaders to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, produces high-quality, review-ready work, maintains well-organized and auditable documentation, and communicates effectively with finance and business partners while proactively escalating risks or issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Monitors the integrity of the balance sheet and ensures completeness and accuracy.

• Analyze and explain financial variances; partner with business line leaders to understand key drivers and business trends.

• Prepare month-end close workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with established timelines.

• Produce quarterly financial statements for GFS as a standalone entity.

• Participate in accounting and finance initiatives, including process improvements and special projects.

• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Operations, Treasury, and Financial Reporting teams to validate data quality and resolve issues.

• Communicate status updates, risks, and issues clearly to management and escalate appropriately.

• Assist with the development and maintenance of process narratives, control documentation, and supporting procedures to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal control standards.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Five or more years of experience in financial accounting activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial systems; exposure to Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, SQL, Copilot skills, or Hyperion Essbase is preferred.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.

- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to self-review work to deliver timely, high-quality results.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
