Summary:
The Research Assistant student position will work closely with a professor to coordinate research activities in the Arctic Research Lab. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for research.
Essential Functions:
1.) Research Assistance
Collaborate with the professor on ongoing research projects.
Support lipid extractions of various sample types including sediments, invertebrate tissue and marine mammals.
Investigate marine particle fluxes by electron microscopy.
2.) Administrative Tasks
Manage undergraduate students supporting projects in the lab.
Develop a coordination platform for all members of the lab.
Update the lab website.
Monitor inventory of lab consumables and assist with reordering supplies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
5 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$17.95 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
Experience working in a geochemistry or organic chemistry lab.
