Job Description Summary

The Senior Engineer – Fleet Management Baker Hughes plays a strategic and execution-focused role on a small cross-functional team representing GE Vernova in its partnership with Baker Hughes and in support of HDGT end users in the oil and gas industry.

Baker Hughes, formerly GE Oil & Gas / Nuovo Pignone, is a critical distribution and service channel for GE Vernova in this market. Success in this role requires balancing technical depth, commercial awareness, and strong cross-functional influence to deliver win-win-win outcomes for GE Vernova, Baker Hughes, and the end user.

You will serve as a key interface between Baker Hughes and GE Vernova, coordinating across Engineering, Product Line Management, Project Management, Commercial/Sales, Services, and other functions to align priorities, resolve complex issues, protect GE Vernova’s interests, and lead the execution of technical support for Baker Hughes. The ideal candidate brings strong heavy-duty gas turbine expertise, credibility across stakeholders, and the judgment to navigate complex technical and business situations effectively.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Execute Engineering Responsibilities in Support of the GE Vernova-Baker Hughes partnership

  • Baker Hughes is the new unit distribution channel for GE Vernova in the oil and gas industry.  Baker Hughes is also GE Vernova OEM Supported Service Provider in this segment.
  • You will represent GE Vernova as the HDGT OEM with Baker Hughes and End Users within the Oil and Gas industry on RCAs, Repair Activities, Reliability/Life Management of hardware, TIL/GEK/GER education/explanations, and other relevant activities as outlined in agreements between GE Vernova and Baker Hughes.

  • Support Closure of Baker Hughes Help Cases (BH Help is a Baker Hughes specific module within Power Now) to achieve agreed upon quality & delivery metrics.  These are analogous to ER cases.
  • Understand and promote accurate MyTime charging to Baker Hughes funded time codes and create quarterly summaries for accurate and timely billing.

  • Relate these priorities to the daily work in support of Baker Hughes and the Oil and Gas sales channel and deliver results on the priorities within this space.

Baker Hughes Help Case (BH Help) Response

  • BH Help Cases are a prime vehicle for Baker Hughes to request Engineering support from GE Vernova.
  • Answer cases directly or pull in other teams to deliver high-quality ER case resolutions. Understand the internal GE Vernova processes for escalations—including weekend duty phone support—and keep Baker Hughes aligned to those processes.
  • Ensure answers protect GE Vernova Intellectual Property (IP) and are consistent with established protocols.

Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Excellence

  • Support Baker Hughes RCA execution in a manner that demonstrates technical excellence and aligns outcomes on similar RCAs with GE Vernova root causes and CAPA.

Lead Customer Communications

  • Coordinate and ensure excellence in customer communications within the Oil and Gas Industry at user conferences, and in-person customer meetings. Strengthen customer relationships through direct engagement and clear, high-quality technical interactions. Remain consistent with other GE Vernova messaging for the same products outside of the Oil & Gas segment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in gas turbine engineering or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of B/E Class Heavy Duty Gas turbines and the GE Vernova Gas Turbine business.
