ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Follows all plant safety rules, including safety regulations pertaining to running wrapper, loading and unloading trucks, and forklift operation. 
  • Able to properly follow plant Lockout Tagout procedure and wear required PPE.
  • Able to work outdoors and during inclement weather.
  • Capable of driving a forklift.
  • Accountable for safe operation of forklift and damage of product and other assets. 
  • Develops skills in loading products on transport vehicles. 
  • Keeps yard and wrapper building clear of debris and housekeeping. 
  • Able to operate and replenish wrapper.
  • Identifies every product that leaves production, and following proper inspection, transports the production to wrapper and/or into the yard to the appropriate storage location.
  • Maintains inventory organization, and packaging and storage integrity in preparation for shipment. 
  • Capable of utilizing SAP to print labels and properly scan loads.
  • Able to put together partial units for Shipping Operators as needed. 
  • Repairs broken or incomplete units. 
  • Develop skills for operating handheld computers and using established procedures for inventory, loading, and scrapping. 
  • Maintains constant contact with the Supervisor and Shipping team with respect to all shipping priorities and progress.
  • Assists other shipping and plant personnel as needed. 
  • Accountable for performing daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

High school education required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
