Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and directing a team of hygienists to deliver comprehensive industrial hygiene support for a large-scale project. This role ensures all IH requirements are integrated into project planning, design, construction, and operations, maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards. 

 Work requires physical ability for field inspections, including walking on construction sites in extreme heat or humidity, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working at heights or on uneven surfaces, and entering confined spaces. Must be able to wear assigned PPE (e.g., harness, life vest, gloves, etc.).#LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary IH leadership interface with the client, supporting audits, governance reviews, and risk based decision making.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce IH requirements for subcontractors, including onboarding, field verification, corrective actions, and escalation.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise junior industrial hygienists, ensuring effective team performance and professional development.
• Lead IH risk management associated with hazardous chemicals, high purity systems, cleanroom interfaces, and simultaneous construction and owner activities typical of semiconductor fabrication facilities.
• Develop, implement, and oversee industrial hygiene plans, procedures, and methodologies tailored to project needs.
• Advise project leadership on IH related risks and tradeoffs, influencing planning and execution decisions in high pressure environments.
• Integrate IH requirements into all phases of the project, including planning, design, construction, and subcontractor management.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, sampling, and monitoring to identify hazards and verify compliance.
