The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a site leadership team member at 3M Cordova, the role of Site Lead Engineer is to critically ensure that all engineering aspects related to maintenance, infrastructure, and capital across the site are fit for purpose.  These responsibilities are to enable site operations to not only achieve business needs but also remain in compliance with all relevant legislation and relevant company procedures and standards.

Here, you will make an impact by being responsible:

  • to lead, mentor, and enforce site EHS procedures/ practices and ensure site compliance to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • to act as key member of site leadership team helping to ensure achievement of all production targets to satisfy business needs.
  • as the local custodian of all national, regional legal and company engineering standards and procedures to ensure compliant site operations.
  • to develop, monitor, and align and be the site liaison on all issues relevant to the site capital program and equipment handover to drive site engagement, meet engineering standards and meet financial goals.
  • to create and develop all aspects of the site engineering organization and personnel skill sets to meet changing business goals. 
  • to ensure engineering personnel at all levels are recruited, fully competent, trained and supervised to operate within all relevant legislation and standards. 
  • to provide and lead engineering planning of the site infrastructure ensuring availability to meet business requirements.
  • to develop, lead, and improve site mechanical integrity, site automation and overall controls strategy, processes, and systems.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or technical discipline from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Seven or more years in manufacturing, engineering, or facilities / maintenance engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Five or more years in manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Ten or more years in manufacturing, engineering, or environmental, health, and safety experience.
  • Seven or more years in manufacturing, engineering, or environmental, health, and safety leadership experience.
  • Large site lead engineering management experience in a chemical manufacturing operation.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
