Engages in a program of “on-the-job” training to provide behavioral health services to clients of the counseling center. Practicum students observe, learn, and use basic skills for behavioral health work consistent with the requirements of their academic institution. Interns provide outpatient behavioral health services including diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, couple, and group therapy; provides consultation and educational services to community groups and agencies in a manner which respects diversity.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides clinical support or treatment as defined by the level of care and service needs of the population served. Specific treatment expectations are defined by licensing and accreditation standards for each level of care and internship expectations as agreed upon between the student, school, and program. This may include diagnostic evaluations and screenings, crisis/emergency assessment and intervention, treatment planning and assessment, and individual/group/couple/and family therapy for adults, children, and/or adolescents.
2. Engages in assessment planning, intervention and aftercare as defined by the level of care and clinical needs of the population served.
3. Engages in clinical supervision and case consultations.
4. Conducts standard assessment and screening tools.
5. Participates in interdisciplinary and integrated diagnostic treatment and planning conferences.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Has completed required practicum hours (or first year of field training) of a Masters or Doctoral level program in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or related program.
2. Satisfactory CORI background check.
3. Driving is not a requirement.

Required:
1. Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and best practices to determine appropriate level of care.
2. Can develop and implement treatment plans which are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Complete CCBHC Diagnostic Evaluations with individuals and families within the required timeframes: Same Day – 24 hours, Urgent – 48 hours, Routine – 14 days.
