Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Build up and maintain portfolio strategy in line with the BA needs and define a well balanced portfolio to minimize risk, to ensure flexibility, to get an advantage position on the supplier market. 
  • Define, deliver and update a Sourcing List 
  • Identify and onboard new potential suppliers where the need is identified
  • Identify any value improvement activities and steer implementation.
  • To present and align the strategies with BA stakeholders
  • To handle all negotiations at the Category Supplier 
  • To negotiate and maintain necessary global contracts
  • To support Advance Purchasing with complex/difficult negotiations
  • Manage suppliers in the representation of the BA
  • Support Region Purchasing for Quality, Supply and Commercial escalation
  • Support the plants at next escalation level in case of supply problems (quality or delivery)
  • Share market situation with stakeholders
  • To report Categories performance in a regular base
  • Forecast expected price development 

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 2 + years experience with global category purchasing management within the automotive industry in the area of compounds (rubber, plastics, etc).   4+ years of experience with global category purchasing management within the automotive industry in the area of compounds (rubber, plastics, etc) in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with a Purchasing Portfolio, Supplier Lists, Understanding of the markets, Portfolio Analyses, and  Forecasting
  • Strong Negotiation experience: RFQ, Offer analysis and comparison, Negotiation
  • Understanding of Risk Management Claims, Finance, Legal
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills; strong skills in Excel
  • Travel requires up to 30% of the time
