About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

The Asst. Billing Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating daily billing functions to ensure accurate and timely flow of claims: This position is the liaison between Management and staff. Key responsibilities include: managing billing staff, resolving discrepancies, process improvement, reporting and compliance, training and mentoring staff, and collaborating with other departments to optimize the revenue cycle.

 

The Asst. Billing Manager interacts effectively with all levels of the organization.  The position provides current and accurate training to all staff members.  This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.  This position also provides project management oversight to projects related to the Business Office.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE: 4-6 years of billing/accounts receivable and medical insurance experience required.  2-4 years supervisory experience required.  Position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), as well as knowledge of the registration and practice management systems, Microsoft Products required along with Visio.  This position requires training skills and strong presentation skills. Position also requires research and analytical ability to liaison with the Payers and the contracting department within AtlantiCare.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday.  Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

 

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to department leadership and may supervise positions as assigned.
