Playfly Sports is looking for a General Manager, Sponsorship & Ticket Sales to join our team at West Texas A&M.
This position, as department head, will manage all aspects of sponsorship sales, activation and fulfillment, as well as a sales team performing outbound and inbound ticket and club donation sales and retention.
The General Manager has overall responsibility for generating new revenue, servicing existing ticket/club/sponsorship accounts, ensuring that ticket and sponsorship sales revenue goals are met, and will be integral in the development of sales and service strategies.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
· Conduct daily sales outreach and relationship-building through calls, emails, meetings, and other communications with sponsors, businesses, and prospective partners.
· Retain and grow existing sponsorships while developing new partnerships through a relationship-based sales approach.
· Negotiate, value, and execute sponsorship contracts across all available assets.
· Create integrated sponsorship packages in coordination with marketing and ticketing teams to drive measurable ROI.
· Lead compelling sponsorship sales presentations aligned with short- and long-term departmental objectives.
· Manage and track all marketing inventory, develop new assets, and oversee fulfillment and proof-performance delivery.
· Deliver exceptional service to sponsors and university partners, consistently exceeding expectations in both revenue generation and client experience.
· Maintain CRM accuracy and manage the sales pipeline to ensure timely and transparent communication with all stakeholders.
· Analyze market trends and partner performance to identify new revenue opportunities and improve future strategies.
· Develop and execute the approved annual business plan and operating budget.
· Collaborate with the university liaison to create, present, and communicate sponsorship sales strategies, procedures, and processes.
· Serve as an active member of the external operations team, participating in weekly leadership meetings and campus collaboration.
· Ensure compliance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations in all sponsorship activities.
· Oversee sales of ticketed sports and club donations through outbound and inbound sales
· Prospect and target new sales opportunities to include season tickets, group tickets and club donations
· Provide superior customer service to university fans
· Develop and execute approved Annual Business Plan and Operating Budget
· Work with the university liaison to develop, present, and communicate ticket sales strategies, procedures, and processes
· Lead in the development of ticket marketing, game promotions, and ticket pricing tactics
· Ongoing development of New Ticket Sales program in the following areas: new business generation, season tickets, development of sales and service strategies, development of best practices and results tracking and reporting
· Track and report daily, weekly and monthly sales figures and relevant accountability.
· Hit and surpass annual sales goals; team and personal
· Create key sales strategies and go-to-market plans that generate long-term revenue
· Retain and grow existing partnerships while creating new ones through a relationship-based approach
· Assist with corporate hospitality, tickets, in-game promotions and other activities
· Provide Proof of Fulfillment for in-venue sponsorship elements
· Meet and exceed annual department and individual sales goals
· Develop and execute approved annual business plan and operating budget
· Recruit, hire, train, retain, and lead ticket sales and service team members who are focused on new business, group sales, retention, and ticket service (box office/ticket operations)
· Exceed client expectations in revenue generation and customer service
· Evaluate team members’ performance and development through consistent coaching with a clear and individualized development plan
· Work with the university liaison to develop, present, and communicate ticket sales strategies, procedures, and processes
· Other job-related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
· 3-5 years in a revenue generating role and minimum of two (2) years in a sales leadership position
· 3 years’ Sponsorship Sales experience preferred
· Experience with ticket sales duties preferred, but not required
· Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
· Proven track record of success around sales and service for both tickets and spon
