Position Summary
To weld all ferrous and non-ferrous metals using GMAW, GTAW, Soldering and Brazing for the purpose of manufacturing STERIS® product.
- 2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm

Duties
1. Set-up and operate welding equipment (GMAW, GTAW, Brazing, Soldering and Stud Welding) using prescribed
methods and procedures to weld parts within acceptable tolerances and standards.
2. Ability to build weldments through manual layout process, when required.
3. Read and interpret STERIS® welding blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including
standard welding symbols, travelers, and other working documents.
4. Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
5. Communicate clearly, both verbally and written, with Engineers, Quality personnel, supervisors, and fellow team
employees.
6. Complete all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed by the area supervisor.
7. Take responsibility for the quality of all parts by inspecting and immediately reporting any problems,
discrepancies/or irregularities to the supervisor.
8. Follow 5S methodology to keep machines and work area clean, neat and orderly on a daily basis.
9. Assist in training other employees in the welding department.
10. Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all prescribed personal protective equipment and by observing all
safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook.
11. Complete any and all projects, assignments and duties as directed and instructed.
12. Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee Handbook,
Bulletin Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management.
13. Ability to perform duties with minimal or no supervision if needed.
Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
1. High school education or GED required
2. Minimum two years experience ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
3. Must be able to satisfy AMSE welder performance qualification testing in both GMAW and GTAW welding of
stainless, mild steel, and aluminum.
4. Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.
5. Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.
6. Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds without assistance.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team
8. Assist with training other operators.
9. Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused
10. Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral.
11. Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements.
12. Ability to work with others.
13. Willingness to work overtime, if required.
14. Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory,
Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving are preferred.
Pay range for this opportunity is $18,45 - $24,22. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
