The Senior Account Manager owns a portfolio of restaurants and is responsible for the post sale, full customer lifecycle and acts as a restaurant consultant for our partners.

In this role, you will:

  • Cultivate and build upon existing high-level relationships to serve as a trusted advisor to restaurants
  • Understand customer needs and identify sales opportunities to sell premium marketing tools
  • Build and apply data-driven presentations for ongoing business reviews
  • Achieve company goals and sales objectives set quarterly
  • Track daily meeting activity in Salesforce
  • Assist restaurant management with configuration to optimize reservation flow
  • Act as an advocate for restaurant customers and resolve cross-functional issues
  • Act as the high-level point of contact for restaurant customer concerns
  • Work with the Marketing team to help design and implement restaurant-specific marketing programs and drive participation in promotional programs
  • Gather feedback from restaurants to suggest feature and functionality requirements for product upgrades
  • Educate operators about trends in the industry and offer actionable, data driven insights
  • Lead restaurant retention rate; aid in the re-signing of customers with expired contracts
  • Ability to attend in person restaurant meetings in your market up to 75% of your week

Qualifications

Note: This is a Washington, DC-based role with field work 3-5 times/week, running a portfolio of accounts in the local DMV area, with a primary focus in the District of Columbia.

  • Account management or equivalent experience in a restaurant/hospitality environment; validated customer service skills, and at least 2 years of maintaining key business relationships.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing OpenTable marketing and settings.
  • A good listener, capable of understanding restaurants business objectives
  • Deep expertise in restaurant operations and management including comprehension of P&L and financial statements
  • Ability to work at a high level in regard to cross departmental  collaboration and go to market strategy; taking on problems to achieve results.
  • Understand implications on the restaurant business, including identifying new business opportunities, and keeping a working understanding of the restaurant industry trends and metrics
  • Ability to handle objections and comfortable with a consultative sales approach
  • Confident in the delivery of training and speaking in front of groups
  • Excellent social and organization skills: task prioritization, effective time management
  • Strong writing, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and data driven approach for making and supporting business decisions, including creating strong cases to facilitate corporate growth for both customers and OpenTable.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite and understanding of Apple products and operating systems
  • Appreciate working in an unstructured and forward-thinking environment
  • Desire to work both independently and with a remote team
  • Ability to work from a home office environment while also being able to work remotely in the field
  • Must be able regularly, and sometimes with short notice, visit restaurants in the Washington DC and Baltimore markets, including immediate suburbs extending as far as Annapolis Maryland, maintaining a key focus on the core of Washington DC proper.
