POSITION TITLE

VP/SVP, Business Management

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Brookfield is a global asset manager focused on real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy & transition, private equity, credit and insurance solutions (the “Business Groups”) with over $850 billion of assets under management.

The Private Funds Group (“PFG”) manages institutional relationships and raises capital for Brookfield’s various private funds.

The Business Management Team is a newly established team responsible for supporting the process, technology, and operational needs of the Private Funds Group.  The Business Management Team’s two key focus areas are a dedicated technology and operations project management center and enhancing the management’s processes across the PFG business.  The team will work with all of the functions across PFG as well as key stakeholders within technology and the Business Groups to deliver strategic and tactical solutions. 

To deliver on this mandate, the focus of this role is the strategic development of projects and initiatives that complement PFG’s business strategy, objectives and initiatives.  This will be done in partnership with stakeholders in PFG and the business groups (collectively, the “Stakeholders”) to understand objectives, issues, enhancements and subsequently identification of potential solutions.

JOB PURPOSE: Business Analysis, Project Management, Solution Implementation

In this role, the candidate will:

• Partner with the Stakeholders to Identify and articulate opportunities to create a competitive advantage and build scale within the PFG environment

• Oversee the business requirements process to ensure completeness and connectivity between the Stakeholders and technology

• Oversee the prioritization and business case processes to ensure resources are being allocated to the highest valued items

• Partner with technology team to develop clear and transparent timelines for development, user testing, and solutions delivery

• Coordinate and organize budget information across all initiatives and ongoing projects

• Understand and gain consensus of the overall cost to the Stakeholders

• Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality of the end users

• Lead the project management function of strategic PFG initiatives

• Set appropriate and consistent governance and oversight of all projects

• Provide regular updates on status of different initiatives to senior members of the organization and key Stakeholders including milestones achieved, next steps, and any outstanding risks or issues

• Partner with Brookfield’s Technology Services Group (TSG) to proactively manage third party relationships across the key technology and service providers

• Identify and gain consensus on specific opportunities for process improvement inclusive of automation and services provided by third party vendors

• Assess the capabilities of outsourced technology and operational service offerings

• Proactively seek and implement opportunities to enhance governance structure to increase transparency and input from key Stakeholders

• Research industry or peer best practice solutions

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management or another relevant discipline

Experience Required:

• ~10 years of experience in financial services or technology fields

• Experience with complicated processes and technology enabled solutions

• Change management and project/initiative experience

• Vendor Management experience is considered an asset

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

• Previous experience with any of the existing components of PFG technology stack

• Salesforce, FIS, Loopio, Seismic, Unqork, Monday.com
