This is a highly responsible, professional, public health position supporting the control and prevention of tuberculosis (TB). The position is located in Duval County. The primary duties are to coordinate, monitor, and report tuberculosis surveillance and provide education to community partners/providers.
Public Health Competency Domain 1: Analytical/Assessment skills
The Senior Human Services Program Manager is responsible to receive, track and report on the status of all referrals (e.g., reports of TB suspects or cases, interjurisdictional transfers, Class A/B refugee notifications, and contact follow-up notifications). Coordinates genotyping/spoligotyping for epidemiologic purposes and contact investigation. Ensures the appropriate routing of referrals to case management and field staff. Ensures reported TB cases medically managed by the county health department or private providers are reported promptly with accurate and required data.

The Senior Human Services Program Manager reports TB information to the Tuberculosis Section in an accurate and timely manner. Completes a Report of Verified Case of TB (RVCT) for each TB case identified through medical record reviews and coordination with nursing and provider staff. Monitors classification of cases within two months of referral. Ensures completion of the RVCT follow-up 1 and 2 reports. Manages state and federal electronic data systems (e.g., Health Management System and Electronic Disease Notification system) used for the compilation and submission of data. Produces surveillance reports as requested and provides regular feedback to Duval County medical providers. Provides monthly data to staff and assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports. Develops and distributes reports outlining the TB epidemiology of Duval County. Ensures correct and complete data is reported on the Aggregate Reports for Program Evaluation (ARPE). Monitors ARPE data routinely, reviews information with Asst. Nursing Director, and reports to the TB Section annually.
Public Health Competency Domain 5: Community Dimensions of Practice skills
Coordinates with hospitals and other health care providers ensuring appropriate and timely reporting of TB suspects and cases to the county health department. Reviews each reported TB case for reporting delays or other problems, i.e., incomplete information. Works with providers to educate and improve reporting when needed. Visits and maintains on-going communication with health care providers. Participates in grand rounds, in-services and other communications with health care providers, nurses and physicians in Duval County. Attends local infection control and coalition meetings and
