About the role

Based in Houston, TX, you will Work with Production Supervisor and other team leads to manage and prioritize machine shop staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production support and stay current on all Shop orders. 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Responsible for supporting operators in the training of loading parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits for machine shop 
  • Able to interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set up requirements 
  • Complete and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed 
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System 
  • Communicates with production supervisor or Manager, for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues 
  • Maintain safe working environment for all machine shop employees 
  • Direct the work of other machine shop employees when necessary 
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Work overtime as required

For This Role, You Will Need: 

  • High School Diploma or GED Or, relevant work experience including a minimum of 2 years machining experience working from prints 
  • Able to use Microsoft Office and Oracle. 
  • Able to follow detailed instructions, processes and procedures 
  • Basic math skills needed for CNC programming calculations 
  • Experienced in the proper and safe use of hand and light power tools. 
  • Ability to read and understand engineer prints. 
  • Able to lift parts weighting in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in bending, standing and squatting positions for long periods of time (excess of one hour and on ladders). 

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:  

  • CNC programming  
  • Multi-axis lathes, horizontal milling, vertical milling machines knowledge and experience 
  • Effective communication skills: verbal and written (English) 
  • Follow written and/or oral instructions in English 
  • Pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts
