Economic Self Sufficiency Policy & Programs Team

 ESS Policy Specialist – Medicaid Eligibility

THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION. CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN THE OFFICE. 

Location: 2415 North Monroe Street, Suite 400, Tallahassee, FL 32303

Some travel will be required.

This is a full-time Career Service position, working 40 hours per week.

Regular business hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday.

 

 

Salary to be determined, based on experience, up to $42,000 min to $52,000 max.

If selected for hire, current DCF employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy. 

 

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Professional experience as described below can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree (minimum 4 years).
  • • Note: Be prepared to provide a copy of your degree/diploma or request official transcripts from your school in a sealed envelope. Unofficial transcripts are not accepted. All documents must be in English, clear, and legible, showing all signatures and pertinent details. Foreign degrees must be validated by a third party to meet the US equivalency requirements. All costs are the responsibility of the applicant.
• One (1) or more years in Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) program policies, and sufficient knowledge and expertise in the ESS operational processes.

Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following:

• One (1) or more years’ experience in determining eligibility for the Medicaid program - Food Assistance (FA), Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) and Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) eligibility, including federal administrative policies, procedures, guidelines, and directives related to program eligibility, and a solid working knowledge of other public assistance programs administered by DCF. Detailed and up to date knowledge of federal and state laws, and policies of public assistance programs.
• Demonstratable knowledge of ESS databases and information technology systems.
