Position Summary

Do you have your finger on the pulse of the vast and ever-changing capital markets environment? Have a passion for current trends in accounting and finance? As an Intern supporting Securitization at Deloitte, you’ll be part of a core team that delivers a wide range of services to our clients with a comprehensive industry-focused approach. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside securitization professionals. Additionally, you’ll be involved in helping advise investment banks, primary broker dealers, attorneys and various asset originators on performing complex procedures on transactions throughout their lifecycle. The intern role offers a unique opportunity to gain invaluable technical skills in an evolving industry.

Work You’ll Do

As an Analyst in our Deloitte Audit & Assurance’s Securitization practice, you will perform agreed upon procedures related to the full lifecycle of a structured product transaction of certain Mortgaged-Backed Assets (MBS), Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO). Our clients include primary broker dealers and originators in the fixed-income industry.

You'll have the opportunity to work across our Audit and Assurance offerings —- including Audit, Specialized Assurance, Accounting & Reporting, Controls, and Internal Audit — bringing together diverse skills, leading-edge technology, and a global network to deliver high-quality audits, assurance reports, and insights that shape how organizations report and operate. You will build adaptable, transferable skillsets that are critical for future leaders as the profession evolves.

Specific areas of work could include:

  • Perform loan file review, analytics, and evaluation of the underlying assets in a securitization transaction
  • Review and assess transaction offering documents
  • Perform post-closing compliance testing and independently evaluate findings
  • Strategize with clients, attorneys and other professionals within the organization and the fixed-income industry

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor or master’s degrees in the following majors will be considered:
    • Accounting, business administration, finance, economics, statistics, financial engineering, or quantitative finance
  • Strong academic record, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • You should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required
  • You can expect to co-locate on average 3 times a week with variations based on types of work/projects and client locations
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
