We are currently looking for: Senior Payroll Manager, US

Role Overview

The Senior Payroll Manager, US is a key leadership position within the Finance organization. This role reports to the Director of Global Payroll and leads a high-performing team of payroll professionals located in the US and Philippines. The Senior Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of US payroll operations for our rapidly growing company — driving timely, accurate, and compliant payroll, improving end-to-end processes, and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems including UKG and Workday. The ideal candidate is a strategic and tactical leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the US payroll function with a team of skilled payroll professionals, supporting a growing global workforce across the US and Philippines

  • Manage and oversee global payroll processing using UKG and Workday Payroll, including biweekly, semi-monthly, and commission cycles

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll for all states in compliance with federal, state, and local tax and labor regulations, including variable pay, stock, supplemental, and off-cycle pay runs

  • Manage monthly and quarterly payroll close activities; prepare management reporting decks and GL journal entries

  • Responsible for timely and accurate accounting for all employee compensation and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Set up and manage payroll in new states, providing input to payroll service providers, reviewing and approving payrolls

  • Apply for tax IDs for new jurisdictions and maintain tax information using ADP Smart Compliance

  • Manage the transmission of data files for FSA, HSA, and 401K plans

  • Perform Quarter/Year-End reconciliation of payroll and stock transactions; manage W-2 processing accuracy

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with HR, HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, Stock, Finance, Tax, and Legal teams

  • Ensure smooth integration with ancillary systems, including UKG Workforce Management, Workday, and NetSuite ERP

  • Document and enforce internal controls in compliance with SOX procedures; support quarterly and annual external audit requests

  • Manage internal and external payroll audits and relationships with external payroll providers

  • Develop and maintain payroll policies, calendars, checklists, process maps, and procedural documentation

  • Drive special projects including system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements

  • Mentor, develop, hire, and train staff; develop and report on key payroll metrics

  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with urgency, empathy, and accuracy

  • Support management on ad hoc, scalability, and acquisition-related projects

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading US payroll operations at a public, multinational high-tech company

  • Hands-on experience with UKG (UltiPro/UKG Pro) and Workday Payroll — both platforms required

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of multi-state and federal payroll, tax, and wage and hour laws

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and team management skills

  • Strong analytical skills including flux analysis on P&L and Balance Sheet

  • Experience with ADP Smart Tax Compliance, ADP Workforce Now, Dayforce or similar payroll platforms is a plus
