We are currently seeking a Area Manager Components to join our manufacturing team in Racine, WI. In this role you will be responsible for leading the Component assembly business unit which consists of the following areas; Driveline Assembly, Repair, Axle and Valve Assembly.
Responsibilities
- Deploy people and manufacturing operations resources in an effective and efficient manner to support the needs of the business which are safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Align department goals with plant and corporate objectives.
- Lead a team of direct report Production Supervisors across two (2) shifts. Provide feedback and coaching to direct reports and foster a teamwork environment throughout the business unit.
- Accountable for meeting day-to-day and short-term targets by setting priorities for the team and ensuring task completion.
- Understand long-term vision and provide direction and resources to support World Class Manufacturing objectives and cost reduction targets.
- Provide strategic as well as day to day oversight on manufacturing area to ensure target and objectives are met, meet quality standards, and meet or fall below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand.
- Manage department budget and related costs related to assigned business unit.
- Resolves highly complex problems that typically require a longer term view and conceptual thinking and takes into consideration multiple perspectives within and sometimes outside own discipline.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools and methodology to establish procedures and drive continuous improvement in the plant's manufacturing processes within the Component Assembly area of responsibility.
- Coach, lead, and mentor employees throughout the assigned area to foster an environment of collaboration and employee development.
- Other related duties as assigned.
The annual salary for this role is $91,125 - $133,650 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related technical field of study, plus a minimum of seven (7) years of direct manufacturing experience.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, twelve (12) or more years of direct manufacturing experience will be considered.
- Three (3) or more years of direct supervisory and/or management experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple demands.
- General understanding of MRP/ERP production planning and material flow.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Good communication skills
- Strong leadership ability
- World Class Manufacturing/Lean Manufacturing knowledge/experience highly desired.
